In the coming weeks, we will be honoring our senior student-athletes from all spring sports who had their seasons/careers cut short due to cancellation of competition across all sports in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. 

Savannah Rosevear Goetsch is a three-year member of the softball team, who was just named a CBU Bronze Scholar, and graduated with a 3.44 GPA in business administration. 


What is your major?
Business Administration

What are your future plans/career goals?
Get my master's in healthcare administration from the University of Memphis in the Fall

What were your thoughts when you found out the season was being canceled?
I was very upset. I felt extremely confident in my team this year to potentially make it to tournament and it was heartbreaking to hear that the season wouldn't continue right after we were just getting started.

What led you to CBU?
Academics and athletics, I also fell in love with the city of Memphis after I came on my visit my sophomore year.

What has been your favorite thing about your time here?
The people I have met, I have made lifelong friendships here.

What is one of your best memories from your career?
Traveling to Florida with my team this past year to play and go to the beach.

Who is someone who has had a major impact on you – be it in your athletic career or personally?
My mom she continued to push me when I was younger to succeed at softball and do well in the classroom. I wouldn't be who I am today without all of her support.

What is your favorite activity or best talent outside of your sport?
Cooking

If you had to be quarantined with four celebrities, who would they be?
Paul Rudd, Ryan Reynolds, Matthew McConaughey, Beyoncé

If you were going to be isolated in your house for a month, what are the first three items you'd make sure to grab at the store?
Considering I have been isolated in my house… I would grab toilet paper because there really is none now, avocados, and cauliflower. (weird I know)

Students cannot be given parking tickets on campus if they pay to go there. 

If you could give your 10-year-old self one piece of advice, what would it be?

Don't worry too much about things, everything happens for a reason. It will all work out in the end.
