BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- Christian Brothers University men's soccer player
Chandler O'Dwyer has been named the Gulf South Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
The awards, which are voted on by the league's coaches, were released on Saturday.
O'Dwyer, who leads the GSC with 12 goals, also earned First Team All-GSC honors.
The Lingfield, England native is the first CBU men's soccer player to earn Player of the Year honors since Brendan Bennett in 2017. O'Dwyer is also the sixth GSC Player of the Year in program history, joining Mark McKeever (2000), Paul Smyth (2001), Ian Ford (2002), Mariano Ilari (2003) and Bennett.
O'Dwyer also leads the league with 26 points, and is second with 26 shots on goal. He has scored goals in nine different matches, and has tallied multiple goals in three contests.
The Bucs open play in the GSC Tournament on Sunday, November 7 when they visit West Florida. The winner advances to face the winner of No. 2 seed Auburn Montgomery and No. 7 seed West Alabama.
