BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Christian Brothers University cross country runner Johanna Wistokat has been named Gulf South Conference Runner of the Week, as announced by the league on Wednesday, Oct. 5. This marks the third honor of the season for Wistokat, who has now been named Runner of the Week after all three of the events that she has competed in. 

The Wennigsen, Germany native is the first CBU cross country athlete to earn three Runner of the Week honors, in a single season, in recorded history. The honor for Wistokat is the fourth of her career. 

Wistokat crossed the finish line in second place at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival on Sept. 30, finishing in 17:32. The time, for Wistokat, was also over 28 seconds faster than at the same race last season. 

CBU is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Alabama Huntsville Invite. The race is set to begin at 7:30 AM.
