CBU Picked Sixth, Eighth in GSC Preseason Coaches Poll

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Gulf South Conference has released its 2022 GSC Cross Country Preseason Coaches Polls, and the Christian Brothers University men's cross country team was tabbed fifth, while the Lady Bucs were picked eighth.

The Bucs finished 2021 with a fifth place finish at the GSC Championships, and 10th at the NCAA South Region Championship. Head coach Bill Hoffman returns all six runners who competed in the postseason, including new school record holder Berket Mesele

The Lady Bucs wrapped up the 2021 season with an eighth place standing at the GSC Championships, and return five of their top six runners from that event. The returners are highlighted by All-American Johanna Wistokat, who finished third at the GSC Championships, fourth at the NCAA South Region Championships and 38th at the NCAA Championships. Wistokat shattered all CBU women's cross country records last season.

CBU is scheduled to open its season on Saturday, Sept. 3 at the City Auto Twilight Classic, at Mike Rose Soccer Complex.
