MEMPHIS - Christian Brothers University women's basketball head coach Jessie Carmack has announced that Taylor Buie will join the staff as an assistant coach.
"I am thrilled Coach Buie is rejoining our family," Carmack said. "She embodies our culture and is a student of the game. Her familiarity of not only our program, but also the Gulf South Conference is an advantage for our team. Our staff is complete and I couldn't be more excited for the upcoming season!"
Buie rejoins the staff after spending one season at Northside High School (Jackson, Tenn.) as a teacher and assistant basketball coach.
Buie spent two seasons (2019-20, 2020-21) with the Lady Bucs, helping the team tie for its second-most GSC wins in program history. She also helped coach the all-time leading scorer in program history (Brynne Lytle), and helped the Lady Bucs earn their first win over Union since 2016.
The Puyallup, Wash., native earned Honorable Mention All-American, All-Sunshine State Conference and Honorable Mention All-Region honors at Nova Southeastern, averaging 15 points per game. Buie helped the Sharks to an NCAA Elite Eight appearance in 2012-13, and to the final four in 2013-14.
Buie also spent one season at Valdosta State, where she helped guide the Lady Blazers to the 2018 NCAA South Region Championship game.
