BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Christian Brothers University men's soccer player
Max Klink has been named Gulf South Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday, Sept. 27. The honor for Klink is the second of his career, and his second this month.
Klink helped lead the Bucs to a pair of draws last week, including a clean sheet against Spring Hill.
In the scoreless draw with Spring Hill, Klink kept the Bucs in the match with three second half saves.
The Amsterdam native followed that up with a career-high six saves to help the Bucs earn a 1-1 draw with West Florida.
On Sept. 6, Klink became the first CBU men's soccer player to be named GSC Defender of the Week since Andrew Forrest earned the honor (9.26.17).
The Bucs are scheduled to return to action on Friday, Sept. 30, when they travel to West Alabama. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM.
