Season Recap: Men's Soccer

MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University men's soccer team wrapped up its 2023 season with an 8-3-6 mark, and a 5-3-3 record in Gulf South Conference play. 

ABOUT THE 2023 SEASON
  • CBU started its season by earning results against a pair of teams that qualified for the NCAA Tournament, as it battled to a 1-1 draw against McKendree and Indianapolis. 
  • After suffering a 2-1 setback, on Oct. 13, at eventual GSC champion West Florida, the Bucs did not suffer a defeat the rest of the season. 
  • The Bucs, who entered the season as the defending GSC Tournament Champions, finished their season on a six-match unbeaten streak.
  • CBU also earned a 1-1 draw at GSC Tournament finalist Delta State. 
  • CBU finished the season allowing the second-fewest goals in the league (14).
  • Offensively, the Bucs took the third-most shots in the league (267). 
  • The 32 shots against Harding (8.31) were the most by a GSC team this season. 
  • Ten different players scored a goal for the Bucs. 
  • Marco Osti led the Bucs, and tied for fifth in the league with seven goals. Three of his goals were game-winners. Osti also led CBU with three assists.
  • Osti ended the season by earning First Team All-GSC honors. 
  • Felipe Arteaga finished second on the team with four goals. 
  • Goalkeeper Max Klink finished second in GSC with a .797 save percentage, and fourth with a .854 goals against average. 
  • Klink, who also earned a pair of GSC Defender of the Week honors, was also named Second Team All-GSC. 
  • With a win at Shorter in the regular season finale, Enda Crehan earned his 100th win as a collegiate head coach.
