CBU Men's Golf has much improved outing at the Battle for the Belt

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The Christian Brothers University men's golf team shot 28 over par at the Battle for the Belt, hosted by Henderson State, on Monday and Tuesday to finish in 10th place at the three-round tournament. The Buccaneers shaved 23 strokes off their team score at the Dunning Invitational, hosted by Delta State, last week.

The Bucs shot 19 over par through the first round of the Battle for the Belt to put them in 13th place. They regrouped and shot their lowest score, three over par, in the second round. In the third round, CBU shot six over par to finish in 10th place. Christian Brothers jumped ahead of NW Oklahoma State, Missouri Southern and SE Oklahoma State with strong second and third round performances. 

Sophomore Alexian Rouault broke even and tied for 13th place after moving up 14 spots on the player leaderboard. He shot six over par in the first round, four under par in the second round and two under par in the third round. Fellow sophomore Nathan London shot nine over par through three rounds to place 39th on the leaderboard.
