Vicent Sanchis Olmedo named a 2024 NCAA Men's Soccer Statistical Champion

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Christian Brothers University men's soccer's Vicent Sanchis Olmedo was officially recognized as a 2024 NCAA Division II statistical champion on Monday. To be recognized as a statistical champion by the NCAA, the student-athlete must lead the nation in a statistical category when statistics for the season of competition are finalized.

The graduate goalkeeper from Valencia, Spain led the nation in two categories for the 2024 NCAA DII men's soccer season. Sanchis Olmedo's goals against average (GAA) rate of .524 and save percentage of .857 were both the top marks in the country this season. To lead the nation in two statistical categories by season's end is a remarkable feat accomplished by few.

Sanchis Olmedo was one of just three goalkeepers in the nation that recorded a GAA rate below .600 this season. He was the only keeper with a GAA rate below .550, allowing just seven goals in over 1,200 minutes played.

Sanchis Olmedo made 42 saves with 49 shots on goal faced to record an incredible save percentage of .857 on the season. He was the only goalie with a save percentage above .850 at the DII level and 1-of-5 keepers with a save percentage of .825 or better.
