Huntsville, ALA- The Christian Brothers University men's cross country team delivered another steady and united performance on Saturday, finishing with a top-five total time of 2:12:45 and an average of 26:33 per runner in the men's 8K race. The Buccaneers showcased exceptional pack running, keeping a tight 1:52 spread among their top five scorers to place 15th overall in a deep field.
Basile Chevrel once again led the charge for CBU, crossing the line in 25:30.5 to finish 44th overall. Chevrel maintained a strong, even pace throughout the race, hitting the 5K mark in 16:01 before closing with a 9:29 final 3K.
Right behind him, Joseph Arriaga clocked 25:48.9, earning 62nd place with a consistent push through each split. The duo provided a solid times for the Bucs, both finishing under 26 minutes.
James Holcombe (26:53.4) and Thomas Saunders (27:09.1) worked together in the middle of the pack to keep CBU's scoring tight, while William McCollough rounded out the top five in 27:23.4, helping the Bucs secure one of their most balanced team efforts of the season.
In the sixth and seventh spots, Keelin Tyler (29:07.3) and Kylon Higgins (29:26.9) provided key depth, while Robert Richardson (30:34.5) continued to gain experience and close strong.
At the 2K split, the Bucs sat in 16th position, but they climbed to 15th overall by the 8K mark, showing improvement and endurance as the race progressed.
With their consistent pack times and cohesive effort, the Buccaneers continue to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season—proving that depth, discipline, and determination define this CBU squad.
