The Christian Brothers University women's cross country team turned in a gritty performance on Saturday, posting an impressive team time of 2:01:10 to finish among the top squads in the women's 6K field. Behind consistent pacing and a tight front pack, the Lady Bucs averaged 24:14 per runner through their top five finishers, showing poise and determination on a challenging course.
Leading the charge was Phoebe Steel, who continued her standout season with a 53rd-place finish in 22:54.3, crossing as the top CBU runner. Just seconds behind, Kaley Byrd clocked 22:59.9, giving the Lady Bucs a powerful 1–2 punch up front as both runners broke the 23-minute barrier.
Lauren Blyth (24:32.7) and Annaggeliki Zannetou (24:44.1) provided crucial middle scoring positions, while Danielle Booker rounded out the top five in 25:59.5, helping CBU secure an overall team split of just over three minutes among scorers.
Rounding out the top seven, Laura De Llano (27:13.9) and Elen Skar (28:10.1) pushed through the second half of the race to complete the Lady Bucs' strong group showing, with the team's top seven averaging 25:13 and finishing within 5:15 of one another.
The Lady Bucs maintained steady placement throughout, holding 16th after the 2K mark and climbing to 13th overall by the finish, showcasing their endurance and ability to close races strong.
With continued improvement and depth from the entire roster, Christian Brothers will look to build on this momentum as the postseason approaches.
