From CBU to the Pros: Alexander Blanche Signs with Metropolitan FA

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — From Signaigo Field to the professional stage, former Christian Brothers University men's soccer standout Alexander Blanche is officially a pro, and he's already making his presence felt.

Blanche officially joined Metropolitan FA on August 12, 2026, making the jump from NCAA Division II soccer at CBU to the professional ranks. Metropolitan competes in Liga Puerto Rico Apertura, Puerto Rico's first tier, where Blanche wears No. 19.

It didn't take long for the former Buccaneer to make an impact.

Blanche has already found the back of the net for Metropolitan, scoring in the 35th minute of a 3–0 victory over Guaynabo FC. His goal doubled Metropolitan's advantage and marked an early milestone in the New Orleans native's professional career.

The move is not only a major accomplishment for Blanche, but another example of what is possible for student-athletes at Christian Brothers University.

Blanche developed his game at CBU under Head Coach Enda Crehan, whose leadership and guidance helped prepare him for the opportunity to compete beyond the collegiate level. Crehan and the CBU men's soccer program continue to create an environment where players can develop, compete at a high level and pursue opportunities in the professional game.

Blanche's breakout 2024 campaign helped put him on the map across the Gulf South Conference. He finished the season with six goals and two assists, including two game-winning goals. His 48 shots and 19 shots on goal both ranked fourth in the GSC. Those performances earned Blanche Second Team All-GSC honors, while he was also named GSC Player of the Week during the season.

His success extended beyond the field. Blanche graduated from Christian Brothers University cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and was named the CBU Male Athlete of the Year, putting an exclamation point on a career defined by achievement both academically and athletically.

Blanche's journey sends a powerful message to current and future Buccaneers: Division II can be a pathway to the pros.

From representing CBU in Memphis to signing a professional contract and already scoring at the next level, Blanche is proving that the dream of playing professionally can become a reality through Christian Brothers University.

You can come to CBU. You can compete at the NCAA Division II level. You can develop under Coach Enda Crehan and the CBU men's soccer program. And you can earn an opportunity to become a professional.

From Signaigo Field to the professional ranks, Alexander Blanche is officially taking the next step.

Once a Buc, always a Buc.
