Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark.—The No. 17 Christian Brothers University Bucs turned in one of their best defensive efforts of the year as they won 51-42 Thursday night at Ouachita Baptist in Gulf South Conference West Division play.

The Bucs (13-2, 2-0 GSC West) held Ouachita (10-5, 0-2) to 36 percent shooting and forced 15 turnovers in a slow-down game as they built a seven-point lead late in the first half and never allowed the Tigers closer than three points again.

The slow, grind-it-out pace of the game was evident very quickly, as neither team scored in the first two minutes, and the score was just 7-7 nearly 10 minutes into the game.  The first 15 minutes saw five ties and six lead changes before an 11-1 run put the Bucs in control.

Ouachita held a 14-11 lead, its biggest of the night, with six minutes remaining in the first half before a Scott Dennis (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore HS) three-pointer tied the game and sparked the Bucs' run.  Nick Kohs (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota East HS) followed with a layup, and the Bucs steadily stretched it out to seven points on a Kohs free throw with 3:12 remaining in the half.

Kohs finished with game-highs of 21 points and 14 rebounds.  Reggie Peyton (Memphis, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) added 14 points, making eight of nine free throws.

Jaranimo Marks led the Tigers with 16 points.

The Bucs held a 34-25 edge on the boards, and they forced 15 turnovers while committing 13.

The Bucs will try to make it 3-0 Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m. as they host Delta State.
