CLEVELAND, Miss.—Host Delta State scored 14 runs in the first two innings on their way to an 18-4 win over the Christian Brothers University Bucs Sunday afternoon in the final game of a three-game Gulf South Conference West Division series.
The Statesmen (19-10, 6-0 GSC West) scored five in the first and plated nine runs in the second as they jumped out to a 14-1 lead.

Will Britt (Oxford, Miss./Oxford HS) put the Bucs (7-16, 0-3) on the board in the top of the second with a leadoff homer to right.
The Bucs capitalized on two errors and a balk in the third to score twice, and they cut the lead to 14-4 in the third when
Rocky Escajadillo (Cordova, Tenn./Cordova HS) singled and scored when
Will Wilson (Cordova, Tenn./First Assembly Christian School) grounded into a fielder's choice.
The Statesmen tacked on four more in the bottom of the fourth to set the final margin at 18-4.
Britt and Escajadillo led the Bucs' offense on the day, each going 2-for-2 with a run. Britt also drove in two runs, as he hit a sacrifice fly in the third inning.
The Bucs will try to get back on the winning track Tuesday afternoon as they visit Lambuth at 1 p.m.
