Bisons Pull Away From Bucs 10-3

David Clayton went 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI, but the Bucs lost 10-3 to Harding Sunday afternoon.
MEMPHIS—Harding scored four runs in the seventh inning and three more in the eighth to break open what had been a tie game as they won 10-3 over the Christian Brothers University Bucs Sunday afternoon at Buc Field, completing a three-game Gulf South Conference West Division series sweep.

The Bucs (7-24, 0-9 GSC West) opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning as Will Britt (Oxford, Miss./Oxford HS) hit an RBI single to left, bringing home Rocky Escajadillo (Cordova, Tenn./Cordova HS), who led off the inning by being hit by a pitch.

The Bucs doubled their lead an inning later when Escajadillo hit an RBI single through the left side to score David Clayton (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS), who led off the inning with a double.  The Bisons (22-19, 7-5) took a brief lead in the top of the third as Wisley Correa launched a three-run homer to left-center, the first of two on the day for him.

The Bucs would tie the game in the bottom of the inning when Britt led off with a single and scored on Clayton's two-out RBI single.  From there, the score remained 3-3 until the top of the seventh.

The Bisons started the seventh with three straight singles, and another single and a two-out Charles Bradley triple finished the inning with the Bisons leading 7-3.  Correa set the final margin in the top of the eighth when he hit another three-run homer to left.

Clayton went 3-for-3 for the Bucs, while Josh Shelton (Rosemark, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS), Joseph Kaminski (Sherwood, Ark./Little Rock Catholic HS), Britt, and Thomas Turner (Bartlett, Tenn./Bartlett HS) collected two hits each.

The Bucs will return to the field Tuesday as they play two games.  The Bucs host North Alabama at 1 p.m., and they will play Loyola (La.) at Christian Brothers High School at 7 p.m.
