QUINCY, Ill.—Lindenwood scored two early goals and held on for a 2-0 victory over the Christian Brothers University Bucs Sunday night at the Quincy University Soccer Bowl.
The Lions (1-4) struck first in the eighth minute as Tian Taylor scored off an Alexander Rivera cross. Four minutes later, Rivera fed Andres Iriarte for the game's second goal, and Lindenwood held the Bucs scoreless from there for the win.
The Lions out-shot the Bucs 12-9, including a 5-3 edge in shots on goal.
The Bucs head to Boca Raton, Fla., next weekend, facing Barry Friday at 3 p.m. and Lynn Sunday at 1 p.m. in a pair of games hosted by Lynn.
