Wonder Boys Blank Bucs 13-0

Aaron Short went 2-for-3 in the Bucs' 13-0 loss at Arkansas Tech Sunday afternoon.
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark.—Arkansas Tech pitchers Blane Sims and Gino Spratley combined for a five-hit shutout as the host Wonder Boys rolled to a 13-0 win over the Christian Brotehrs University Bucs Sunday afternoon.

The Wonder Boys (25-11, 7-1 GSC West) scored twice in the first inning and put it away with a five-run third.  They tacked on two more in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to set the final margin.

Sims (3-3) wouldn't need the help, allowing five hits and four walks as he struck out six over five innings.  He also induced a pair of double plays.  Spratley retired all six batters he faced as he threw the final two innings.

Aaron Short (Cleveland, Tenn./Cleveland HS) went 2-for-3 for the Bucs (4-26, 0-8) Sunday afternoon, while Josh Shelton (Rosemark, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS), Joseph Kaminski (Sherwood, Ark./Little Rock Catholic HS), and David Alan Wright collected one hit each.

The Bucs return to the field Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. as they host Freed-Hardeman.
