MEMPHIS—Visiting Freed-Hardeman hit three home runs as they pulled away for a 12-1 win over the Christian Brothers University Bucs Tuesday afternoon.
The Bucs (4-27) scored first in the fourth inning as
Yogi Vanaman (Cordova, Tenn./Cordova HS) singled and came home on an
Anthony Apro (Lexington, Ky./West Jessamine HS) single.
The Lions (19-10) answered with a Noslen Labrada grand slam, the first of his two homers. Joe Mike extended the lead to 5-1 with a two-out solo homer. FHU tacked on five more runs on four singles, an error, and a double in the seventh inning.
The Lions set the final margin with a two-run homer by Labrada in the eighth inning.
Vanaman went 3-for-4 to lead the Bucs' offense, accounting for three of the Bucs' eight hits.
The Bucs hit the road for a GSC West series this weekend at Harding, with the games moved up a day due to Easter Weekend. Friday's doubleheader begins at noon, with a single game set for 1 p.m. Saturday. The Bucs' next home game is scheduled for Wednesday, April 7, at 4 p.m. against Rhodes.
