Skyhawks Top Bucs 10-1

Alan Wright went 2-for-2 with an RBI in the Bucs' 10-1 loss at Tennessee-Martin Tuesday.
Box Score MARTIN, Tenn.—Host Tennessee-Martin scored all of their 10 runs in the third inning as they claimed a 10-1 win over the Christian Brothers University Bucs Tuesday at Skyhawk Field.

The Skyhawks (5-15) used two doubles, three singles, two walks, a hit batter, and a grand slam to score 10 runs with no outs in the bottom of the third inning.  After the grand slam, Drew Tatum (Southaven, Miss./Southaven HS) came out of the bullpen and stopped the bleeding, tossing four scoreless innings as he allowed one hit and five walks against four strikeouts.  Cody Warren (Orlando, Fla./Orangewood Christian HS) and Will Bishop (Huntsville, Ala./Grissom HS) each tossed a scoreless inning as well.

The Bucs (6-18) scored in the top of the fourth inning when Josh Hopkins (Olive Branch, Miss./Southern Baptist Educational Center) hit a two-out double to center and scored on an Alan Wright (Olive Branch, Miss./DeSoto Central HS) single to right-center.  Wright paced the Bucs' offense, going 2-for-2.

The Bucs return to GSC play at home this weekend as they host defending national champion West Florida for a three-game set.  The Bucs face the No. 6 Argos for a noon doubleheader Saturday, with a single game set for 1 p.m. Sunday.
