Panthers Top Bucs 12-2

Josh Hopkins went 2-for-2 with a run scored in the Bucs' 12-2 loss to Drury Sunday afternoon.
Box Score MEMPHIS-Visiting Drury jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first three innings on their way to a 12-2 win over the Christian Brothers University Bucs Sunday afternoon.

The Panthers (3-0) plated three runs in the top of the first on a walk, an error, and a pair of two-out singles.  They put it out of reach in the top of the third when they scored seven runs on six hits, two walks, and a hit batter.

The Bucs (2-5) scored a pair of runs in the third when Braden Keathley (Henderson, Nev./Silverado HS) hit a two-out two-run double.  The Panthers set the final margin in the sixth inning with two more runs on a walk and three base hits.

Josh Hopkins (Olive Branch, Miss./Southern Baptist Educational Center) led the Bucs' offense as he went 2-for-2 with a walk, a double, and a run scored.  Miles Anderson (Milan, Tenn./Milan HS) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks over four innings out of the bullpen, and Jake Porter (Mount Juliet, Tenn./Mount Juliet HS) tossed a scoreless ninth inning.

The Bucs return to action Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m. as they host Victory.
