Charles Kelly went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the Bucs' 7-4 loss to Alabama-Huntsville Sunday afternoon at Buc Field.
Box Score MEMPHIS-Visiting Alabama-Huntsville won 7-4 Sunday afternoon over the Christian Brothers University Bucs in a rain-shortened game at Buc Field.

The Chargers (19-3, 5-0 GSC) jumped to a 3-0 lead early, scoring once in the first on two singles, a walk, and a two-out error. They added two more to their lead an inning later on a hit batter, a single, and a double.

The Bucs (5-13, 0-6) got on the board in the fifth as Caleb Goodwin (Shreveport, La./Evangel Christian Academy) drew a one-out walk and scored on a Will Wilson (Cordova, Tenn./First Assembly Christian School) triple. The Chargers used another key error to score twice in the sixth on a walk, an error, and a single, but the Bucs again shaved a run off the lead in the bottom of the inning, when Charles Kelly (Bartlett, Tenn./Bartlett HS) singled Josh Hopkins (Olive Branch, Miss./Southern Baptist Educational Center) in after a one-out double.

The Chargers scored two more in the top of the seventh on another two-out error, extending their lead to 7-2. The Bucs made a game of it in the bottom of the frame, loading the bases with none out on singles by Cale Alexander (Bartlett, Tenn./Tipton-Rosemark Academy) and Tanner Sandel (Gallatin, Tenn./Gallatin HS) and a walk to Jarrett Jenkins (Ridgeland, Miss./Ridgeland HS). A one-out Hopkins sacrifice fly scored one run, and Braden Keathley (Henderson, Nev./Silverado HS) singled Sandel in to cut the lead to 7-4, but a strikeout ended the threat and thunderstorms moved into the area in the eighth inning to set the final score at 7-4.

Kelly went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Bucs. Jake Porter (Mount Juliet, Tenn./Mount Juliet HS) threw an inning and a third of scoreless relief.

The Bucs return to action Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m. as they host Williams Baptist.
