In the opener, the Argos (28-10, 12-8 GSC) led 4-1 after seven innings but withstood a furious CBU rally late. The Argos used a walk, a single, and a triple to plate two runs in the bottom of the second to open the scoring, but the Bucs (9-29, 1-19) answered with a run in the top of the fourth as Will Wilson (Cordova, Tenn./First Assembly Christian School) singled, moved to second on a Tyler Burnett (Germantown, Tenn./Germantown HS) single, and scored from second on a wild pitch.

In the ninth, Wilson led off with a bunt single and moved to second on a wild pitch. He moved to third on a Burnett single and scored on a groundout by pinch-hitter Jordan Wilson (Arlington, Tenn./Tipton-Rosemark Academy), but a strikeout ended the game.

Wilson and Burnett each went 2-for-4, with Wilson scoring twice. Michael Lartigue (Southaven, Miss./Southaven HS) tossed an inning and a third of scoreless relief, allowing a hit and a walk.
