MEMPHIS–Christian Brothers University baseball coach Phil Goodwin announces the signing of Nashville Father Ryan High School pitcher Will Rutledge to a National Letter of Intent to join the Bucs next season.
Rutledge threw 67 innings for Father Ryan, compiling a 3.58 ERA as he led the Fighting Irish to the TSSAA Division II Class AA Playoffs. He also hit .300 as a senior, slugging .476. Rutledge's coach at Father Ryan, Mike Mascari, is a CBU alum who played at CBU from 2000-01.
Rutledge is the Bucs' fifth signee of the year, joining Collierville pitcher and infielder Peyton Sanderlin, Henderson Pope John Paul II pitcher Ricky Heagarty, CBHS first baseman and outfielder Casey Goodwin, and Nashville Franklin Road Academy infielder Joe Mattson.
