Box Score 2 HUNTSVILLE, Ala.-Four pitchers combined for back-to-back shutouts as No. 15 Alabama-Huntsville swept a doubleheader from the Christian Brothers University Bucs Saturday afternoon.
GAME 1:WHAT HAPPENED:The Chargers (14-5, 7-1 GSC) scored in each of the first five innings as they rolled to a 15-0 win as three pitchers combined for a four-hit shutout.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• UAH wasted no time scoring, opening the bottom of the first inning with back-to-back homers by Matt Spruill and Zach Dugas.
• The Chargers scored another run in the second on a double and a single.
• UAH doubled its lead to 6-0 with a three-run third inning on two doubles and a two-run homer by AJ Walden.
• The Chargers scored four more in the bottom of the fourth on a double, a single, a hit batter, a walk and a triple.
• UAH set the final margin with a five-run fifth inning, taking advantage of three singles, a walk and a Trey Mathis grand slam.
KEY STATS:•
Lucas Castleberry (Bryant, Ark./Bryant HS) went 2-for-3 for the Bucs (5-13, 0-8).

Casey Goodwin (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) was 1-for-3.

Mickey Smith (Arlington, Tenn./Arlington HS) went 1-for-3.
GAME 2:WHAT HAPPENED:UAH hurler Will Myers carried a no-hitter until two outs in the seventh inning to lead the Chargers to a 5-0 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• The Chargers gave Myers all the run support he would need in the third inning with three runs on a triple, two walks, a hit batter and a single.
• A walk, a stolen base and a double plated another Charger run in the fourth inning.
• The Chargers set the final margin in the bottom of the sixth with a run on a single and a triple.

Hunter Howard (Chelsea, Ala./Chelsea HS) broke up Myers' no-hit bid with a two-out single in the seventh, as he hit a single to left but was tagged out at second trying to stretch it into a double.
KEY STATS:• Howard went 1-for-3.
• Smith and
Scott Pala (Hernando, Miss./Hernando HS) each drew walks in the fourth inning.
WHAT'S NEXT:The Bucs visit UAH again Sunday at 1 p.m. Their next home game is Thursday at 2 p.m. as they host Edgewood.
