BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Christian Brothers University baseball team had freshman Tyler Flynn (Millington, Tenn./Tipton-Rosemark Academy) and Griffin Miller (Milan, Tenn./Milan HS) highlighted on the 2019 Gulf South Conference Top Newcomers list, and was picked to finish 13th in the 2019 GSC Preseason Coaches Poll.

Miller was an All-District performer at Milan High School, leading the Bulldogs to the District 13-AA championship and the Region 7-AA finals. He struck out 60 batters, while tossing 52 innings, his senior season. Miller also wrapped up the season with an impressive 1.80 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP. At the plate, Miller hit .327 with a .383 on-base percentage and knocked in 19 RBIs.

Flynn. who is also a pitcher, helped lead Tipton-Rosemark Academy to the Division II, Class A State Championship game as a senior. He was named to the 2017 Commercial Appeal Spring All-Metro Team and was also an All-Region Selection.

The Bucs are scheduled to open their season on Saturday, Feb. 2 when they travel to Alva, Okla., for a three game set against Northwest Oklahoma State.
