BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Christian Brothers University women's track and field student-athlete
Raeven Veal has been named the 2020 GSC Women's Indoor Track & Field Champion Scholar-Athlete.
This is the first year that the league office has given out the Champion Scholar-Athlete Award. The award is handed out at the final site of each GSC Championship, where the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA among teams participating will be recognized. GPA is based on the most recently completed term, and the individual must have a minimum of 48 credit hours to be eligible for the award. Student-athletes are only eligible to win the award one time per academic year.
Veal holds a 4.0 GPA and has completed 79 credit hours. She is majoring in Business Administration.
The Cordova, Tenn., native recently finished the Gulf South Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, where she finished second in the 800 meters (2:15.65).
