In the coming weeks, we will be honoring our senior student-athletes from all spring sports who had their seasons/careers cut short due to cancellation of competition across all sports in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. 

Rachel Bridges is a four-year member of the women's track and field team.

What is your major?
Special Education

What are your future plans/career goals?
Go to grad school to become a Speech Pathologist.

What were your thoughts when you found out the season was being canceled?
I was angry/disappointed about the season being canceled because this isn't how I wanted to end my track career and I had been training so hard for my senior season. 

What led you to CBU?
I came to CBU for Track and Field as well as being able to stay close to my family.

What has been your favorite thing about your time here?
All of the friendships and experiences that CBU has brought me.

What is one of your best memories from your career?
I have so many memories, but one of my best and favorite from my career is when I got two PR'S on my 21^st birthday, as well as all of the adventures to get food with Anna Peyton, Brian, John, and Gagne.

What is one of the most funny/embarrassing moments from your career?
When Coach Fortenberry tried to make me a hurdler.

Who is someone who has had a major impact on you – be it in your athletic career or personally?
Coach Fortenberry and Coach Hoffman have both impacted me in my athletic career and personally on and off the track.

What is your favorite activity or best talent outside of your sport?
My favorite activity is taking my dogs to the park or doing anything outdoors!

If you had to be quarantined with four celebrities, who would they be?
Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Aniston, Sydney Mclaughlin, and Post Malone

If you were going to be isolated in your house for a month, what are the first three items you'd make sure to grab at the store?
Sweet tea, chicken nuggets, and Hot Cheetos

One musical artist you'd recommend to everybody?
Post Malone

What's a show you're currently watching, or have recently?
I'm currently re-watching How I Met Your Mother

You have the power to make one law – what would it be?
That it is illegal to have an animal kill shelter.

If you could give your 10 year-old self one piece of advice, what would it be?
If I could give my 10-year-old self one piece of advice it would be to start training for the 400m dash sooner because coach is going to make me run it even if I haven't trained for it :)
