Dennis, Dieball Named Second Team All-Decade by Gulf South Conference

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference released its men's basketball All-Decade awards on Tuesday. Christian Brothers University had Scott Dennis and Adam Dieball named to the Second Team.

Dennis (2009-12) was named 2009 GSC Freshman of the Year, and wrapped up his career by being named 2012 GSC Co-Player of the Year. The Cincinnati native was also named Second Team All-GSC following his sophomore and junior campaigns. Dennis also earned All-American and All-South Region honors following a senior season that saw him average 16 points and nine rebounds, with 14 double-doubles, while leading the Bucs to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament. Dennis was also a member of the 2008-09 team that advanced to the first NCAA Elite Eight in school history.

"Scott was one of the best that I have ever coached," said former Men's Basketball Head Coach Mike Nienaber. "He was an All-American, Co-Player of the Year in the GSC, and was a great leader on the floor. He's a guy that had a great four-year career. When you look at this list of guys, that is one of the hallmarks. He consistently produced for us at CBU, and it was an honor to have the chance to coach him."

Dieball (2016-19) was named 2016 GSC Freshamn of the Year, and wrapped up a stellar career that saw him named First Team All-GSC three times. The Cincinnati native finished his career fifth in GSC history with 627 assists, and in the top 15 with 1,914 points. Dieball, who finished his career with averages of 17 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game, also had 21 career double-doubles and five career triple-doubles. He was also a two-time First Team All-Region selection.

"Adam was another fantastic player for us," added Nienaber. "He was a great Princeton center and really developed his rebounding numbers as he grew in his career. He led the GSC in assists and was always among the league leaders in that category, and was another guy who was overlooked in high school. On top of the athletic accomplishments, he was a really good kid and a joy to coach."

"Adam and Scott were not only tremendous players on the court, but they were great kids off the court," Nienaber finished. "They were humble and good guys, and the numbers speak for themselves."
