Fayetteville, AR. -  The Christian Brothers University cross country teams participated at the Chile Pepper Festival, on Friday at Agri Park. Johanna Wistokat led the Lady Bucs with a runner-up finish in the Women's Prairie Fire Pepper 5k and Berket Mesele finished in second place in the Men's Prairie Fire Pepper 8k

The meet featured 510 total runners, including 495 college participants. 

Johanna Wistokat finished 2nd of 242 runners in the women's 5k race, with a time of 18:03.30. Wistokat broke the previous 5K school record of 18:22.07, which she achieved at the 2021 Rhodes College Invitational.

Berket Mesele led the Bucs to a top-10 finish, as he crossed the finish line with a time of 25:35.00. His finish helped him land in second in a field of 266 runners.

The CBU cross country teams are scheduled to return to action at the Alabama Huntsville Invite, on Saturday, October 9th. The races are scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM at John Hunt Park Cross Country Course.
