BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Following their performances at the Samford Invite, Christian Brothers University women's track and field team members Chelsea Walker and Oriana Gee were honored by the Gulf South Conference. Walker was named GSC Track Performer of the Week, while Gee earned Freshman of the Week honors. 

Walker had a pair of NCAA provisional qualifying times in the 200 meters (24.71) and the 60m hurdles (8.76). Her time in the 200 ranks ninth in the country. This is the third time in her career, and the second time during the indoor season, that she has won this award. At the Samford Invite, the York, England native finished fifth in the 200 and third in the 60 hurdles. 

Gee earned Freshman of the Week honors after finishing third in the long jump, with a mark of 5.56m, which is the second best distance in the league this season. The Dallas native posted a 1:00.17 time in the 400 meters, which earned her an eighth place finish, and currently ranks sixth in the league.
