BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Christian Brothers University baseball player Van True has been named Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league office, on Tuesday. 

This marks the first GSC Freshman of the Week honor for True. 

True earned the honor after hitting .368 (7-for-19) with a double and two RBIs against No. 12 Valdosta State. In game one of Sundays doubleheader True made a running over the shoulder catch, in the bottom of the 10th inning, to help seal the 13-12 victory.

The series win over #12 Valdosta State was the first for the Bucs in school history. 

The Bucs are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, April 6th, when they return home to take on Alabama Huntsville in a non-conference matchup. First pitch is scheduled for 1 PM.
