Missy Gregg Named to 2022 Gulf South Conference Hall of Fame Class

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Former Christian Brothers University women's soccer standout Missy Gregg has been selected to the 2022 class of the Gulf South Conference Hall of Fame, as announced by the league on Monday.

This is the eighth class to enter the GSC Hall of Fame since its inception in 2014.

Gregg is set to join four others who will be enshrined, becoming the first former CBU student-athlete in history to earn the honor. Gregg, who starred at CBU from 2001-02, helped the Lady Bucs capture the 2002 NCAA Division II National Championship.

The Centerville, Ohio native holds the NCAA record (all divisions) with 73 goals scored in a single season. Gregg also holds NCAA records for points per game (7.09), points in a season (156), points in a career (287), goals (135), goals per game in a season (3.32) and goals per game in a career (2.81), doing so in just 47 career games. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America voted Gregg the winner of the the NSCAA/Adidas National Player of the Year, becoming the first player to repeat as winner of the award, which covers all levels of collegiate soccer.

Gregg was also named GSC Player of the Decade, a two-time All-American and was a back-to-back GSC Player of the Year, while helping lead CBU to a 47-2 record in two years, finishing as national runner-up as a junior and bringing the national championship trophy to Memphis as a senior.

"We are absolutely thrilled for Missy," said Director of Athletics Donna Crone. "This is a well deserved honor for one of the best student-athletes in the history of our university. We are incredibly thankful for all that she has done for CBU, and find it so fitting that she has become the first CBU student-athlete to join the GSC Hall of Fame during the 50th anniversary of Title IX."

The honorees from the Classes of 2020 and 2022 will officially be inducted on Wednesday, June 1, in Pensacola, Florida at the Hilton Pensacola Beach Hotel.
