Lady Bucs Fall in High-Scoring Match at Trevecca Nazarene
NASHVILLE, Tenn. The Christian Brothers University women's soccer team wrapped up its regular season on Friday evening with a 5-3 loss to Trevecca Nazarene at the Trojan Soccer Complex.
The Lady Bucs came out battling despite an early deficit. Trevecca struck first just under four minutes into the game, then doubled its lead in the 13th minute. CBU responded when Elisa Cruz netted her first goal of the season in the 22nd minute, assisted by Madison Woolridge, cutting the deficit to 2–1. However, Trevecca answered immediately to take a 3–1 lead into halftime.
After the break, the hosts extended their advantage to 4–1 before the Lady Bucs mounted a late push. Savanna Mondesir-Singh scored in the 63rd minute, her first collegiate goal to bring CBU within two. Trevecca added another goal in the 75th minute, but Lia Haggstrom closed the scoring for the Lady Bucs in the 78th minute with her second goal of the season.
Goalkeepers Kaylee Allen and Maria Carrico combined for three saves on the night. Allen played the first 63 minutes, while Carrico closed out the final 27. CBU recorded eight shots, including six on goal, while Trevecca finished with nine shots and five goals.
