BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Gulf South Conference has announced its 2023 Spring All-Academic Teams and Honor Roll, and Christian Brothers University had five student-athletes named Academic All-Conference and 89 named to the Academic Honor Roll.

GSC All-Academic honorees must have a 3.2 cumulative GPA and have made significant contributions to their respective teams during the 2022 campaign. Student-athletes who competed in spring sports were eligible for awards. 

Johanna Wistokat, Marc Crespi and Leo Stefanski represented the CBU track and field teams. Eva Graham and Caleb Bopp, of the golf teams, were the other two honorees. 
 
Wistokat earned an unprecedented ninth career GSC All-Academic honor (3X Fall, 3X Spring, 3X Winter). The Wennigsen, Germany native has a 4.0 GPA in the Master of Science in Data Science program. On the track, Wistokat finished in second in the GSC Championships in the 5,000m, while also earning a sixth place finish in the 1500m.
  
Crespi earned his second All-Academic nod of the year, after also being named to the GSC Winter All-Academic team for his efforts with the indoor track team. The Barcelona, Spain native won the 400 hurdles at the GSC Championships, and helped the Bucs finish second at in the 4x400 relay.

This marks the fifth career honor for Stefanski, who has also earned All-Academic nods for cross country and indoor track. Off the track, he earned a 4.0 GPA in the Master of Science in Data Science program. Stefanksi finished ninth in the 800m at the GSC Championships and helped the Bucs finish second in the 4x400 relay. 

Graham earned her first career All-Academic nod after finishing the season ranked No. 10 in the GSC with a 78.10 scoring average. The Rockvale, Tenn., native had two top-five finishes and four top-10 finishes.

Bopp also earned his first career All-Academic honor after putting together a stellar season ranked in the top-15 in the GSC with a 73.78 scoring average. Bopp had the second lowest round in the league this season (65), which helped him win the CBU Buccaneer Invite. The Fishers, Ind., native also had two-top fives and two-top 10 finishes.
