Kyle Huckaby Named Assistant Baseball Coach

MEMPHIS - Christian Brothers University Head Baseball Coach Adrian Dorsey has announced the hiring of Kyle Huckaby as the Assistant Baseball Coach for the upcoming 2024 season. 

Huckaby comes to CBU after spending four seasons as a professional baseball player in the Toronto Blue Jays organization and the American Association. During his collegiate career Huckaby spent three seasons at Eastern Michigan (NCAA Division I, MAC) before finishing his career at Benedictine University (Ariz., NAIA). 

The Chandler, Ariz., native finished finished his EMU career with a 4-4 mark with 27 strikeouts, in 65 innings. As a senior, at Benedictine, Huckaby was 2-2 with a 1.47 ERA, and 37 strikeouts in 30 innings. 

Huckaby started his professional career appearing in 19 combined games with the Vancouver Canadians (Toronto, Short-Season A) and the Bluefield Blue Jays (Toronto, Rookie). In 18 games with Bluefield the left-handed pitcher went 1-1 with a 5.11 ERA, and 25 strikeouts in 24.2 innings. He also tied for the team lead with three saves. During his time in the Blue Jays organization, Huckaby was named Teammate of the Year. 

After spending two seasons (2021-22) with Kane County, Lake Country and Milwaukee (Independent, American) Huckaby finished his playing career in 2023 with the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks (Independent, American). 

Huckaby is a 2019 graduate of Benadictine University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
