CBU opens indoor track & field season at Birmingham Indoor Icebreaker

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Christian Brothers University track & field team opened the 2024-25 indoor track & field season at the Birmingham Indoor Icebreaker on Friday. Seven Buccaneers finished in the top 20 of their respective events against stiff competition that included multiple Division I schools.

In the men's 800 meters, sophomore Robert Richardson came in 20th place with a time of 2:02.69. 

In the women's 800 meter race, junior Isabella Zurita placed 13th by crossing the finish line in 2:32.71.

Junior Meghan Turner recorded a personal best time of 3:04.36 in the women's 1000 meters to finish fifth in the race.

Both Will Doughty (8:52.38) and James Holcombe (8:55.70) finished in the top half of the men's 3000 meters. Doughty came in 13th place while Holcombe managed an 18th-place finish. Both of their times were personal records.
