BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Christian Brothers University baseball's
Jalen Smith was named the Gulf South Conference's Player of the Week on Monday. He was previously named GSC Freshman of the Week in late March of last year.
Smith helped the Bucs notch a three-game series sweep over Lincoln (Mo.) as he was a combined 5-for-11 (.455) at the plate with four runs scored and eight RBI. The sophomore opened the season with a 2-for-5 outing and drove in two runs in a 13-4 win. However, his standout performance of the series was in game three as he went 3-for-3 with two home runs, as he accounted for nine of CBU's 14 runs, finishing with six RBI and three scored himself.
