MORROW, Ga. – The Christian Brothers University men's soccer team kicked off its 2026 season on the road Thursday night, opening a stretch of back-to-back matches in Georgia with a 3-0 result against Clayton State at Laker Field.

CBU and Clayton State battled through a scoreless opening 45 minutes. The Buccaneers generated three first-half shots, including an attempt on goal from Christopher Armitage, while goalkeeper Pablo Ossorio kept the Lakers off the scoreboard with three first-half saves.
Clayton State broke through shortly after halftime, with Fabian Wagner scoring in the 46th minute. CBU continued to compete as the match moved into its final 20 minutes before the Lakers added goals in the 73rd and 78th minutes.
The Buccaneers finished with seven shots, including two on goal, while putting four attempts toward goal during the second half. Daiki Ebihara and Armitage each recorded a shot on target. Ossorio finished his season debut with seven saves.

Thursday's contest was the first of back-to-back road matches in Georgia for CBU as the Buccaneers begin their 2026 campaign away from Memphis.
