TAHLEQUAH, Okla.—Host Northeastern State scored twice in the first half on their way to a 2-1 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Friday afternoon.
The Riverhawks (5-5-3) scored in the 13th minute as Allyson Hall scored on a free kick, and they doubled their lead with a Dani Watson goal in the 33rd minute.
The Lady Bucs (7-5-1) cut the lead back to one in the 64th minute as
Elin Svavarsdottir (Reykjavík, Iceland/Menntaskolinn vid Hamrahlid) scored off a
Staci Long (Germantown, Tenn./Houston HS) cross, and Svavarsdottir nearly equalized four minutes later, but her shot came off the post, and the Riverhawks held on for the victory.
The Lady Bucs were out-shot 19-8 for the game, including a 9-4 edge in shots on goal.
Libby Hake (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury HS) made seven saves to keep the Lady Bucs in it.
CBU will be back in action Sunday as they visit Hendrix at noon in their final non-conference game of the season.
