Box Score MEMPHIS—Three different players scored as the Christian Brothers University Bucs won 3-0 over Delta State Tuesday night in the game made up after Friday night's storms wiped out the original date.
The Bucs (5-5-1, 3-2-1 GSC) struck first in the eighth minute.
Kevin Tikhomiroff (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Complexo Eucacional Contemporaneo) served a free kick to #Jose Ferraz near the end line to the right of the goal. Ferraz sent a cross in to
Ralph Velasco (Rowlett, Texas/Rowlett HS) in the middle of the box, and Velasco found the net.
After they were unable to score again for nearly 80 minutes, two goals just 31 seconds apart put the game out of reach. In the 86th minute,
Nico Alvarez-Garcia (Oviedo, Spain/Dr. Fleming) fired a shot from the right side, but DSU (5-6-1, 2-4) goalkeeper Milos Boskovic's save stayed in front of the left side of the goal.
Adamandios Toras (Meitarie, La./Archbishop Rummel HS) beat a DSU defender to the ball and put it in the net for the goal. Just a few seconds later, Boskovic hauled down
Jose Ferraz (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/) in the box, picking up a yellow card and setting up a penalty kick, which Ferraz converted for his team-leading sixth goal of the year.
The Bucs out-shot DSU 14-4, including an 8-2 lead in shots on goal.
The Bucs open the second half of the GSC schedule this weekend when they visit Alabama-Huntsville Friday and Shorter Sunday. Their next home game is Friday night, Oct. 19, against West Florida at 7 p.m.
