Box Score ST. CHARLES, Mo.—Host Lindenwood thwarted a Christian Brothers University comeback with an overtime goal to claim a 2-1 victory Saturday afternoon.
The Lions (2-1-1) took an early lead in the third minute, when Azeem Razwan scored to put the Lions on the board. The lead stayed 1-0 until the 59th minute, when
Jose Ferraz (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/) put the Bucs (0-3) on the board with an unassisted goal. The game remained 1-1 into overtime, when the Bucs had two chances but missed the goal boath times. Eric Olvera scored the winner for the Lions in the 99th minute off a corner kick.
The Bucs out-shot Lindenwood 12-9 for the game, including 5-0 in the second half, but Lions goalkeeper Fermin Hughes made four saves to keep the Lions in it and set up for Olvera's game-winner.
The Bucs come home Wednesday night at 7 p.m. as they take on Rhodes in their home opener.
