MEMPHIS - The Gulf South Conference named Christian Brothers University junior goalkeeper Riley Chafin as its Defender of the Week after she earned a 1-0 shutout over No. 13 West Florida, and helped lead the Lady Bucs to a 2-0 record last week.

Chafin began the week by recording six saves in a 1-0 shutout against the Argos on Friday, Sept. 27th. Her shutout performance helped the Lady Bucs defeat UWF for the first time since 2014. Chafin now has six shutouts for her career.

The Little Rock, Ark., native added two more saves on Sunday in a 6-1 conference win over Spring Hill.

CBU has now earned back-to-back GSC Defender of the Week awards, as Bobbie Willis claimed the honor last week.

The Lady Bucs are scheduled to return to action on Friday, Oct. 4, when they host in-state rival Union. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
