BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Three Christian Brothers University men's soccer players earned weekly awards from the Gulf South Conference on Tuesday. Russell Brown was named GSC Player of the Week, Robin Mollers was tabbed the league's Defensive Player of the Week and Vicent Sanchis Olmedo earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors from the conference.

Brown exploded to win his first GSC Player of the Week award this season as he scored six goals, tallied an assist, and had seven shots on goal to help Christian Brothers start a three-match win streak. Against Central Baptist, Brown recorded a brace while having three shots on net in a 7-1 win. The sophomore would then follow this effort up with a goal and an assist in a 3-0 victory over UAH. The week would not be complete without mentioning Brown's final performance where he recorded his first hat trick of the season in a 3-0 victory over West Alabama. He is now third in the GSC for goals scored this season.

Christian Brothers recorded two shutout victories in part because of the play of Mollers. The junior helped the Buccaneers' backline to shut down the UAH attack in a 3-0 victory while also opening the scoring in the 13th-minute with his first goal of the season. He then recorded a shot against West Alabama, but made his impact felt defensively in the second 3-0 win of the week for Christian Brothers. 

Sanchis Olmedo conceded no goals during action he played while making six saves on 25 shots faced to help the Buccaneers win all three of their matches. Against Central Baptist, Sanchis Olmedo played 30 minutes where he registered a save on one shot faced in a 7-1 victory. Then, the graduate recorded a save on 13 shots faced and allowed no goals again in a 3-0 shutout win against UAH, which was immediately followed up by a four-save on 11 shots faced performance in a 3-0 victory over West Alabama.
