David Woodmansee starred in baseball from 1982 to 1985.  He compiled a 22-12 record with 314 strikeouts in 266.1 innings pitched over 57 games.  He is still the school's career leader in strikeouts. He ranks second in wins and strikeouts per nine innings, seventh in innings pitched, and eighth with a .256 opponents’ batting average.  As a junior, he struck out 114 batters and held opponents to a .171 batting average, both school records that stand today.  He also struck out 12.07 batters per nine innings, which ranks fourth in school history as he led the team to 34 wins, the second-most in a season in school history.  His eight wins that season rank second in school history.  As a sophomore, he had a 2.10 ERA, which ranks 10th in school history, his .196 opponents batting average ranks third, and his 13.1 strikeouts per nine innings are second.
