Larry Barton starred in baseball from 1984 to 1986. In three years, he rewrote the CBU baseball record book. In 145 games, he batted .362 with 19 doubles, nine triples, 93 RBI, and 174 runs. He holds the top three seasons in school history in stolen bases and his career total of 128 stolen bases are still twice as many as second place in school history. He also ranks first in school history in triples, second in walks, third in runs and on-base percentage, and fourth in batting average. He also holds the best and third-best seasons in runs and the second and third best seasons in walks. In his three years, CBU went 94-56-1, including the second and third best records in a season in school history in 1984 and 1986, leading CBU to the NAIA District 24 semifinals both seasons. He was a two-time All-District selection and an All-VSAC selection his senior season.
