When CBC started women’s sports in 1976, Jennie Bradford was hired as the first coach for both the women’s basketball and women’s volleyball programs. She quickly turned both into powerhouses. In basketball, she was the only coach to post winning seasons five years in a row, with a 112-74 record in eight years at the helm that still ranks at the top of the CBU coaching list in wins and winning percentage. She led two of the three 20-win teams in school history, leading the 1980-81 team to a 21-5 record and the 1982-83 team to a 23-3 record and the VSAC West Championship. But it was in volleyball where she made her biggest mark. Her teams went 174-54 in eight years as she never had a losing record. She is tied for first on the career win list in volleyball, and she has the highest winning percentage in school history. Her volleyball teams won five VSAC Championships, four Bi-District Championships, and three Tri-District Championships, leading the Lady Bucs to the NAIA National Tournament in 1981, 1982, and 1983. Ladies and gentlemen, Jennie Bradford.
