Margaret Saurin had a record-setting career in soccer at CBU in 2001 and 2002. She holds the NCAA all-division record for career assists per game, and she also holds the D-II records for assists in a season. In fact, she holds the top two seasons in D-II history in assists, and despite playing just two years, she ranks second in D-II history in career assists, one behind the record set by a player who played four years. In 47 games, she scored 47 goals with 64 assists and 158 points. She led CBU to a 47-2 record in her two seasons, leading them to a national runner-up finish as a junior and the national championship as a senior. And her success extended beyond the playing field as she won the 2002-03 GSC Commissioner’s Trophy, which recognizes the GSC’s best overall student-athlete, recognizing excellence on the field, in the classroom and in the community.
