Julie Bowen starred in volleyball and basketball from 1980 through 1984.  In basketball, she led CBC to an 80-30 record, including a 23-3 record and a VSAC West Division Championship in 1983, the program’s first.  She graduated from CBC as the all-time leading scorer with 1,366 points, which ranks third in school history.  She still ranks as the school leader with 1,128 rebounds.  Bowen was a four-time All-VSAC player who was named All-District twice.  She was voted the team’s best defensive player four straight years and the team MVP three times.  Bowen’s success extended beyond basketball, as she led CBC to four straight VSAC volleyball championships and a 122-25 overall record.  CBC also won four bi-district titles and advanced to the national tournament three years.  Bowen was a four-time All-Conference and All-District player in volleyball.  Since graduating, she has coached basketball, volleyball, softball, and track at the high school and college level, including four years as the head volleyball coach at Rhodes.
