Mike Bennett starred in baseball from 1984 to 1987. He went 21-13 with a 3.99 ERA for his career, with five saves and 157 strikeouts in 255 innings pitched. He also hit .311 at the plate with 46 runs and 29 RBI. He was the team’s most valuable pitcher as a sophomore and as a junior. But his success wasn’t just his own. As a freshman, he led the team to a 34-18 record, their second-best in school history, and his junior season’s 33-19 record was the third-best in school history. In his four years, CBU went a combined 112-73-1. His 9-3 record as a junior set a record that stands today for most wins in a season. His 21 career wins are fourth-most in school history, and his five saves rank third.
