Jana Jones starred in basketball from 1978 to 1982. As the second female athlete to be given an athletic scholarship to CBU, she immediately raised the bar for others to follow. While her scoring and rebounding statistics are incomplete, she ranks second in school history with 310 career assists and scored at least 734 points. She averaged 16.5 points per game as a freshman, which still ranks 10th in school history. During her sophomore, junior and senior seasons, she led the team in assists, with 106 as a junior and 102 as a senior. She was twice chosen as an All-VSAC selection and led CBU to three straight winning seasons with an overall record of 61-40. CBU went 21-5 her junior year, which still ranks as the third-most wins in a season in school history.
